The Ehi Nutome Galiza Health screening project is always planned and executed by the Health and Environment committee of the Ehi Development Council. The 2019 team was led by Dr Philip Amoo, an illustrious son of Ehi and a Public Health Consultant and specialist at the Korle-bu Teaching hospital. Fifty health personnel drawn from Korle-bu and other health facilities in the Ketu North municipality were drafted for the exercise.
The first part, which lasted for two days, dealt with the screening of school children and over 4,000 school pupils were screened and treated in all the fourteen schools in the area.
The second part, which is the adult clinic, lasted for two days with a mop-up for a few days. Over 1,000 adults were screened and treated for various diseases. This project was sponsored by the Amoo-Tornuxi family from Ehi and Horizon Insurance Brokers.
